Ayurveda
Ayurveda is the most ancient Indian systems of medicine. Millions of
people on the Indian subcontinent and all over the world are using
Ayurveda as alternative medicine. The origins of Ayurveda date back to
5000 BC and survived even the British rule, when Western medicine became
more and more established. Beginning in the 1970s Ayurveda has become
more and more important again, today being available all over the world.
Ayurveda is also referred to as being the Hindu art of healing and
prolonging life.
Ayurveda builds on a holistic understanding of what is life-sustaining
and what is not. This approach not only comprises the physical body, but
also our mind, our senses and our spirit. Ayurveda covers different
aspects of diet, lifestyle and behavior, ensuring the best well-being
possible both for the individual and also fort he community.
